Where I Stand

Responsible Recreation

Maple Ridge needs more recreation, but we also need to make sure we are building the right facilities, in the right places, at a cost taxpayers can afford.

What I believe

I support expanding recreation opportunities, including needed ice capacity.

What I am concerned about

I do not believe we should destroy existing recreation simply to create different recreation when reasonable alternatives may exist.

What I will push for

Major projects should be designed to maximize every dollar and every square foot. That means looking for revenue-generating partnerships, dedicated youth space, flexible community uses and facilities that can adapt to future needs.
