Where I Stand

Community Safety

People should feel safe in their neighbourhoods, parks and downtown.

What I believe

During my previous term on Council, I helped advance Maple Ridge's Community Social Safety Initiative and the introduction of Community Safety Officers. I continue to believe that compassion and accountability must go together.

What I am concerned about

Growth is outpacing the practical resources needed to keep neighbourhoods feeling safe as the city gets bigger: policing, bylaw enforcement, lighting, and community programming.

What I will push for

We need coordinated mental-health, addiction and housing supports, while also protecting residents, businesses and public spaces from persistent disorder and criminal activity.
